Canadian Man Sentenced for Holocaust Denial

Just saw this story. Canada has finally sentenced someone for the crime of denying the Holocaust. Nine months in prison and two years of probation.

A North Bay, Ont. man has been sentenced to jail for dozens of social media posts and videos promoting hate and violence against the Jewish community, marking the first-ever conviction in a Canadian court for Holocaust denial, according to Crown prosecutors.

Kenneth Paulin, 51, was sentenced to nine months in jail and two years of probation on September 18 for the wilful promotion of hate against Jewish people and the wilful promotion of antisemitism by condoning, denying or downplaying the Holocaust.

Paulin was arrested and charged by the North Bay Police Service in June following a seven-month investigation into his antisemitic online content.

His posts vilified the Jewish community, promoted blood libels and conspiracy theories, incited hate and violence against Jews and repeatedly mocked and denied the Holocaust.

Paulin's posts included claims that Jews are "demons," "the greatest mass murderers in human history," "to blame for every American who falls" and responsible for "almost 100%" of the world’s problems. He also expressed support for a "Worldwide 'Jew Hunt'" and declared that "antisemitism is the only thing that can save the world," among countless other hateful posts and videos. Most disturbingly, he minimized and denied the Holocaust, including in a video he titled "Their victim card gets permanently denied as the hollow-cost-Hoax is exposed" and by sharing a post that read, "Six million didn't happen but it should've."

Probably wasn't smart for him to call for a "Worldwide Jew Hunt" in a country that doesn't value free speech, especially on what seems to be his main account. The most important thing that I took away from this story was that they were looking into his posts for seven months. Regardless of how much this topic has broken containment in the past year, it's always important to remember that they are always looking to crack down on it. Surveillance state is always at work!

There is a kerfuffle in a small corner of the internet regarding some fallout from his arrest.

I don't know how to help the guy.

It sucks that he has to go through this. I don't think removing him from his family for almost a year because he said 'naughty things' is the answer.

I will look for any place where he said he wanted to organize a 'jew hunt'. That seems out of character for him.

Thanks for giving clarification on details. I just saw the story yesterday so I figured I would share it on here.

Hopefully he can get the help that he needs because it's obviously unjust what they are doing to him.

I'm not sure what he can do. I don't think anyone is going to take up his case for kicks, and he isn't exactly rolling in the dough. Furthermore, you can't even donate to him, because the government won't let you, just like with the trucker protest, the bank won't let you give him any aid. They shut down his give send go etc.

While this is going on, a group of people feigning 'concern' for his situation doxxed his mom and are just pissing all over each other. It is a shitshow.

Me, I'm just sitting here looking at snow Mexico wondering what I can do to help this guy out who is being sent to jail long enough to lose employment, while being branded as unhirable and being labeled as untouchable.

It is frustrating man. I want to help stop the bleeding. I want to help end this persecution of people for 'saying not nice things' on the internet.

You shouldn't go to jail for speaking, even if you are wrong, especially if you are wrong.

If the guy is wrong, expose where he is wrong.

I've heard it said that you don't prove a man wrong by cutting out his tongue, and there is wisdom in that sentiment.
