Here we cannot confuse the meaning of retort (or muffle) and oven

Good catch, thanks for clarifying. Perhaps worth noting then that the same matter of lean vs healthy corpses and the forced draft device even further mitigates (or dashes altogether) the possibility of less than one hour per corpse at Birkenau ca. 1942-3.
Forensics lack both graves and chambers—only victors' ink stains history's page.

Besides the cremation rate, consider the indicators for usage. E.g. coal / coke consumption and also the maintenance needs of the cremation facilities. And there should be records of this. E.g. coke deliveries, or maintenance orders and reports. If that isn't there, the facilities haven't been used in the extent that is implied by Exterminationists.
