Not really. Because those shoes are real and those scratches are a postwar forgery (the autorities of the Auschwitz museum unconvincingly say "marks of vandalism made by visitors/tourists" for damage control purposes).

Reviewing the USHMM I ran across their 'shoe exhibit'. It being a Holocaust Museum, I of course knew it had to have a shoe display, that wasn't the surprise, the surprise was a poem;
Spoiler
We are the shoes, we are the last witnesses.
We are shoes from grandchildren and grandfathers.
From Prague, Paris and Amsterdam.
And because we are only made of stuff and leather
And not of blood and flesh, each one of us avoided the hellfire.

We shoes — that used to go strolling in the market
Or with the bride and groom to the chuppah,
We shoes from simple Jews, from butchers and carpenters,
From crocheted booties of babies just beginning to walk and go
On happy occasions, weddings, and even until the time
Of giving birth, to a dance, to exciting places to life…
Or quietly — to a funeral.
Unceasingly we go. We tramp.
The hangman never had the chance to snatch us into hisSack of loot — now we go to him.
Let everyone hear the steps, which flow as tears,
The steps that measure out the judgment.”

Apparently, being leather, the shoes were not flammable and were able to survive the fires so they could be the last and enduring witnesses to the Holocaust, the immutable truth that 6,000,000 jews were murdered by the nazis in homicidal gas chambers.

I was surprised, but only slightly.

Hmmm? So where did these 12,000,000 shoes go? ;)

It proves that the holocaust is a religion with miracles.
10,000 children's shoes materialize out of thin air.

Wasn't Germany short of leather for soles for shoes or shoes or something, and people used to save old shoes so that the leather etc could be reused and old shoes repaired etc? Well that is what you read in old newspapers?

I've read so much literature that in this case I cannot remember where I heard it, only that I remember reading that the shoes were actually donated by caring German citizens for the Jews in the work camps.

This may or may not be true but it fits with what I know about our people.

Okay, Mr. "Genuine and Bold" (or did you not know the meaning of Archibald?) it may not be true.

The Jew cucked AI's deny it except to say that, "There is a possible source of confusion: the Nazis did redistribute some confiscated clothing and footwear. According to the Auschwitz Memorial, better footwear could be sold, while poorer-quality items could be given to workers or prisoners; confiscated clothing and shoes could also be issued to prisoners."

I do remember reading it somewhere in a testimony, as workers would have a hard time being productive without proper clothing, shoes, food, and water, etc. This makes more sense to me than the Jewish narrative that the pile of shoes represents footwear removed from those that were holocausted (a verb that I invented).

Germans donated shoes to be remanufactured for the war effort. They recycled everything. The nation was facing shortages of everything from oil and grease to butter and coal. They went to extreme efforts to make ends meet.

This wasn't a case of Germans giving their shoes to camp inmates, detainees were issued fresh footwear.
