Re: Looking for answers to questions asked on the thisisaboutscience.com website

Callafangers, is it true or false that after some people die, their remains are buried under a layer of soil? Callafangers People are indeed sometimes buried under soil when they die. Callafangers, have the remians of a dead person buried under a layer of soil ever been uncovered? Callafangers ...

Re: Carl Sagan's "Baloney Detection Kit"

Missing the point, again, Sagan's BDK is a pretty poor guide to how historical science and social science work - since the evidence, data, observations are gathered in rather different ways to natural science (telescopes and laboratories). Wrong. Sagan's BDK is about critical thinking, not just lab ...

Re: Looking for answers to questions asked on the thisisaboutscience.com website

Callafangers Your approach is to simplify everything into "black and white" but there is necessarily a wide range of 'gray' which you seem to stubbornly refuse to acknowledge. Really? Let's see how much "gray" we can find: Is it - True. - or - False. - that; It has been alleged in orthodox ...

Re: Looking for answers to questions asked on the thisisaboutscience.com website

I would think so, yes. But this is because I would likely have enough trust in the administrative/government authorities who have conducted the excavation, so that I could believe what they had done was legitimate. Someone with different experiences or insights with your local government ...

Re: Looking for answers to questions asked on the thisisaboutscience.com website

Callafangers No, but that doesn't make it any less subjective. Someone could still argue... Just because someone can always "argue" a point, doesn't mean that a point has not been or can not be proven. I could "argue" that 2 + 2 doesn't equal 4, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't. Callafangers ...

Re: Looking for answers to questions asked on the thisisaboutscience.com website

Sorry Callafangers, I was editing my last post and didn't see this one. So is your answer to the question yes or no? My answer is "yes" but I acknowledge this as my personal opinion. I also acknowledge that there is not an objective answer to the question. Any individual's answer will be subjective ...

Re: Looking for answers to questions asked on the thisisaboutscience.com website

Sorry Callafangers, I was editing my last post and didn't see this one. Callafangers, is the following photo of two excavated graves at Sobibor an example in which verified human remains have been tangibly located via bona fide, verifiably honest and conclusively documented archaeology? This has ...

Re: Looking for answers to questions asked on the thisisaboutscience.com website

HansHill Hi Keen, this question is multifaceted and needs to be broken down into its smaller parts, for example it lists multiple camps across multiple locations, all with different circumstances, and digs being performed at different times. Also, i'm not clear what the quote means by "remains of ...

Re: Carl Sagan's "Baloney Detection Kit"

After taking some additional time to think it through, I may have spoken too soon regarding my suspicions about one of our valued contributors here, Stubble. While we always face the possibility of subversive efforts on a forum like this one, we also encounter many different personality types and I ...

Re: Carl Sagan's "Baloney Detection Kit"

... SC/Terry's last response to me was 2,039 words, not including quotes. That's ten (10) pages of 12-point font, double-spaced text, and without even touching the AI analysis I provided. Does Dr. Terry really have no way to convey his thoughts succinctly, ever, on any topic, no matter what? Truly ...

Re: Carl Sagan's "Baloney Detection Kit"

Sagan's checklist works very well for science vs pseudoscience, but it's not calibrated to consider history, politics or law properly. This is a hard cope. There is no 'calibration' required to discern truth versus non-truth, which is explicitly what Sagan had set out to do. Consider censuses ...

Re: The 'Whitewashing' of Daniel Bennahmias, Sonderkommando

Josef Sackar is another Sonderkommando witness who, suddenly in the 90s, started saying they washed down the walls. I think this adds further to the suspicion of it all. What are the odds that not one but two 'Sonderkommando' held in their secret about this crucial technical 'gassing' detail for ...

The 'Whitewashing' of Daniel Bennahmias, Sonderkommando

The question of whether the 'gas chamber' walls at Birkenau were washed and whitewashed after each 'gassing' was raised again, so I found it worth making a separate thread (there were a few threads on this at the old CODOH forum). What I find most interesting about this claim of 'whitewashing' is ...

Re: Carl Sagan's "Baloney Detection Kit"

You are adhering to the 'they washed down the walls' bit? You know that testimony is singular, late, and an outlier, don't you? If I recall correctly, it was not just late but as recent as ~2005, i.e. well-after Rudolf's findings would have warranted, "oh shit, we better change our story."
